Skin Scars

Every skin injury or wound heals with a scar. The appearance of a scar however depends on the type and extent of the wound, as well as how an individual's body heals. Small wounds will generally heal without leaving scar tissue, but more extensive wounds can leave permanent scars.

Skin ScarScarring occurs when the deep dermis layer of skin is damaged. The deeper the damage, the worse the scar. To repair the damage, the body has to lay down new collagen tissues as the body cannot re-build the tissue exactly as it was, the scar tissue will have a different texture and quality than the surrounding normal tissue. An injury does not become a scar until the wound has completely healed.

How Do You Get Rid of Scars?

Scar removal methods will often include laser treatment, resurfacing techniques and surgery, however, there are also other less invasive treatments that are just as effective, such is the case of the Derma Rejuv Skin Roller.

The biggest problem with surgery is that it is only suited for people with loose skin, which means that if you have these marks but no loose skin then you're better off looking for another solution.

Getting Rid of Scars With The Derma Rejuv Skin Roller

Our body is not designed to make itself look good, it's solely concerned with healing and protection. This is where nature needs a little helping hand, and getting rid of scars with the needling skin treatment continues the natural healing process.

How Skin Needling Works
  • The sharp needles perforate the scar bed and edges. In order to achieve an intensive perforation, each area should be needled approximately 15 to 20 times. This procedure softens and takes care of the tension in tissue. During the procedure the fibers that often connect the scar base with the fascia are being broken down.
  • Soon after needling the scar, new capillaries and fibroblast can migrate through the scars walls into the former 'scar channel'. This results in a re-vascularisation and a normalization of the previously hypo-pigmented surrounding tissue.
  • After many skin needling treatments the former 'scar channel' is filled with new collagen layers, thus bringing the previous scar to normal skin level.

How 2 get rid of scars

Keep in mind that the skin roller will not be able to repair and replace any hair follicles and sweat glands which may have been injured.

Before performing the treatment, you must first identify the suitable needle size for use.
